Star Children

Star Children

These babies who were not allowed to experience life are called star children. They saw heaven before they saw the light of day.

Their visit to Earth was short - now they shine in the sky!

Little is said about star children. Those not affected are uncertain. They don't know how to deal with what shouldn't happen, what words and what comfort they should give their parents.

Parents of star children feel like parents even without a child, and their grief continues. Often incomprehensible to outsiders.

They cannot understand the deep bond that the parents have with their unborn baby. In these difficult times, we would like to support mothers and fathers and say goodbye to the little one lovingly together.

What are star children?

Children who die before, during or shortly after their birth are often referred to as star children.

Originally the term was defined even more narrowly and was only used for babies who weighed less than 500 grams at birth.

However, it is now being used more and more often for children, some of whom weigh significantly more.

How are star children buried?

They are called “Garden of the Star Children”, “Star Meadow” or “Land of the Angel Children”.

For a cemetery, the grave areas are colorful and cheerful.

The wooden crosses are painted with colors, teddy bears and toys are placed on the graves.

How do star child parents say goodbye?

Farewell rituals are important when dealing with grief. This includes the funeral. The family can paint the small coffin or urn. Or release balloons with wishes at the grave. A letter to the stillborn son or daughter that is given to the star child is also an idea that can help parents. Some parents also give their child a cuddly toy or a lucky charm to take with them on their journey.

Capture memory

There are photographers who put a lot of passion into photographing star children. The results are beautiful photos in which you often don't even notice the death and which are a valuable memory for the family. Even the stuffed toy, the music box or a piece of clothing that you have already bought are memories that you should not throw away, but rather keep. A footprint or a small curl that can be incorporated into the piece of jewelry are also beautiful memories that will last forever.

We will help you capture the memory!
